Arabic vocabulary
How to say “face” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كُنْتُ فَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ إِبْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِكَ
O Allah, if I have done that seeking Your face.
وَجْهِكَ — Your face. A noun with an attached 'your' (referring to God) pronoun and no separate 'the', since the attached possessor already makes it definite. It completes the possessive pairing started by the previous word; 'face' here is the fixed expression for God's pleasure or presence.
