Arabic vocabulary
How to say “fleeing” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَلَمَّا رَأَتْ الْهِرَّةُ ذَلِكَ وَلَتْ هَارِبَةً
When the cat saw that, she ran away.
هَارِبَةً — fleeing. A descriptive 'doer' word (active participle) used like a state-of-being tag on the verb: it tells how she turned, namely fleeing. Its object-style ending marks it as a circumstance attached to the main action rather than a noun in its own right.
