فَلَمَّا رَأَتْ الْهِرَّةُ ذَلِكَ وَلَتْ هَارِبَةً
When the cat saw that, she ran away.
الْهِرَّة — the cat. A definite noun that is the doer of the seeing, sitting after its verb in the usual verb-first order. Its feminine identity is what pulled the -at ending onto the verb ahead of it.
