How to say “for the disease” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَقْهَرُ دَاءُهُ قُوَّتَهُ وَيَكُونُ السُّلطانُ لِلْداءِ
And among them are those whose illness overwhelms their strength, and the dominion is for the disease.
لِلْداءِ — for the disease. The preposition 'li-' (belongs to) on a definite noun, forcing the genitive. As before, 'li-' assigns possession, but here the mastery belongs to the disease, exactly inverting the earlier sentence.
