How to say “forgetfully” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
يَجِبُ تقديمُ مسحِ الوجهِ على مسحِ اليدين؛ فلو عَكَسَ ناسيًا لم يصحّ على المذهب
The wiping of the face must precede the wiping of the hands; if reversed inadvertently, it is not valid according to the school of thought.
نَاسِيًا — inadvertently. An active participle, 'forgetting,' in the -a form as a side-description of how he reversed it — 'while forgetful.' Arabic uses this accusative to paint the doer's circumstance: not deliberate but absent-minded.
