مِنكُم — from you. This is the preposition min 'from' with 'you' attached, marking the group they slip away from. The preposition governs the pronoun, so the single word means 'from you', the body being abandoned.

مِنْكُمْ — from among you. A single word combining the preposition 'from / among' with the attached -kum (you all), 'from among you'. It restricts the authority-holders to the addressees' own ranks, packing preposition and pronoun into one token.
