وَاجْتمعَ على بيعَته الْمُهَاجِرُونَ وَالْأَنْصَار
The Emigrants and the Helpers united in pledging allegiance to him.
وَاجْتَمَعَ — and he united. 'And' plus a past-tense reflexive-shape (form VIII) verb 'gathered / came together as one', its subject coming next. The verb stays singular before its plural subject.

When they gather, I have commanded your youngest concerning a matter, so let him be unaware of it.
اِجْتَمَعُوا — they gather. Past-shaped verb with the plural 'they' inside, but read as future under the 'when' word: 'once they have gathered'. The completed shape after 'when' marks the condition that must be met first.
