Know that if the nation gathered to benefit you with anything, they would not benefit you except with what Allah has decreed for you.
اجْتَمَعَتْ — gathered. A Form VIII verb, 'come together, assemble', with the feminine '-at' agreeing with 'the nation'. It is the counterfactual condition: 'were the whole community to gather...'.
