How to say “god” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وإن أعرضت كإعراضك عن وصية الإله العظيم ،
And if you turn away as you turned away from the command of the Almighty God,
الإِلٰهِ — the God. The al- here is fused into the divine name, marking it as the one definite God, and it sits in the possessed, 'of'-type ending because the previous noun owns it: 'the command of God'. The two nouns stand side by side with no word for 'of', the second taking this owned-half ending.
