Arabic vocabulary
How to say “group” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُنَّ حِزْبَيْنِ
The women of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, were two groups.
حِزْبَيْنِ — two groups. This is the dual, a form English lacks: where English needs 'two groups', Arabic folds 'exactly two' into the noun's own ending. It stands as the statement made about the women, telling us they split into precisely two parties.
