How to say “he changed” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقَوْلِيُ لَهُ غَيَّرَ عَتَبَةَ بَابِهِ
And when I told him, he changed the threshold of his door.
غَيَّرَ — he changed. This is a past-tense verb built on a doubled-middle pattern that carries a causative, 'made it change', force. The singular 'he' subject is built in. The doubled middle consonant is the visible sign of this make-it-happen pattern, distinguishing 'changed (it)' from a plain 'changed'.
