How to say “her son” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
إِذْ مَرَّ بِاِمْرَأَةٍ تَصِيحُ بِابْنِهَا يَا وَلَدِي
When he passed by a woman who was crying out for her son, she cried, "O my son!"
بِابْنِهَا — for her son. A 'for/over' preposition fused to a noun that itself carries a tail pronoun 'her', so 'for her son' is packed into one word. The preposition marks the one cried over, and the attached 'her' points back to the woman. Following the preposition, the noun takes the post-preposition case.
