وَلَعَلَّهُ هُوَ الَّذِي نَبَّهَهُ إِلَى تَقْيِيدِ خَوَاطِرِهِ،
And perhaps he was the one who prompted him to record his thoughts.
خَوَاطِرِهِ — his thoughts. A plural noun with -hi ('his') attached, the owned member completing 'the recording of his thoughts'. The attached possessor sits in the genitive and ties the thoughts to him. The -hi reaches back to the man being prompted.
