Arabic vocabulary
How to say “recording” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَعَلَّهُ هُوَ الَّذِي نَبَّهَهُ إِلَى تَقْيِيدِ خَوَاطِرِهِ،
And perhaps he was the one who prompted him to record his thoughts.
تَقْيِيدِ — recording. An action noun ('recording/writing-down') turned from a verb so the preposition can govern it; it sits in the genitive after 'to'. It heads its own 'of' link to the thoughts that follow. English uses an '-ing' noun the same way.
