Arabic vocabulary
How to say “however much” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
أَنَّهُ مَهْمَا بَالَغَ فِي بِرِّهِمَا لَمْ يَفْ بِشُكْرِهِمَا
However much he went to great lengths to be dutiful to them, he did not repay them with thanks.
مَهْمَا — however much. This is the concessive 'however much / no matter how', a word that opens a 'whatever the extent, still...' clause. It sets up a contrast: no matter how far the dutifulness goes, it falls short. Arabic uses it to grant the maximum effort and then deny it is enough.
