Arabic vocabulary
How to say “husband” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَتْ أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا سَافَرَ وَلَهُ شَرِيكٌ
She said that her husband had gone away and that he had a partner.
زَوْجَهَا — her husband. A noun 'husband' with a tail pronoun 'her' welded on, so 'her husband' is one word. It is also the noun seized by the complement particle before it, so it takes the object-style case that particle imposes. The attached 'her' points back to the speaking woman.
