Arabic vocabulary
How to say “I return” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ لِي اِجْلِسْ هَا هُنَا حَتَّى أَرْجِعَ إِلَيْكَ
He said to me, "Sit here until I return to you."
أَرْجِعَ — I return. A present-tense verb of returning with its 'I' subject built in, pushed into the subjunctive by the 'until' before it, its final vowel switched to mark that mood. The shift shows the return is the awaited aim, 'until I come back', not an action already underway.
