Arabic vocabulary
How to say “I spent the night” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَإِنْ دَخَلَ بَيْتَهُ ذَكَرَ اسْمَ اللَّهِ فَأَبَيْتُ خَارِجَ الدَّارِ
And if he entered his house and mentioned the Name of God, I would spend the night outside the house.
فَأَبَيْتُ — so I spent the night. The 'fa-' opens the result of the condition ('then'), and the verb is a past-tense first-person 'I spent the night'. It marks the consequence half of the if-then.
