Arabic vocabulary
How to say “outside” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَإِنْ دَخَلَ بَيْتَهُ ذَكَرَ اسْمَ اللَّهِ فَأَبَيْتُ خَارِجَ الدَّارِ
And if he entered his house and mentioned the Name of God, I would spend the night outside the house.
خَارِجَ — outside. A noun in the accusative used adverbially to mark place: 'outside'. Arabic shows this 'at/in such a place' meaning with the accusative ending, and it heads an 'of' pairing with the next noun.
