How to say “Khalid” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقُتِلَ مِنْ خَيْلِ خَالِدِ يَوْمَئِذٍ رَجُلَانِ
So two men from Khalid's horsemen were killed that day.
خَالِدِ — Khalid. This name is the owner in the 'of' pairing, so the horsemen are defined as his. As the second link it takes the genitive ending but, being a proper name, carries no tanwin; its job is to say whose the preceding noun is.
