Arabic vocabulary
How to say “knee” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَيَرْجِعُ ذُبَابُ سَيْفِهِ فَأَصَابَ رُكْبَةَ عَامِرِ فَمَاتَ مِنْهُ،
The tip of his sword snapped back and struck Amir's knee, and he died from it.
رُكْبَةَ — the knee of. The thing struck, and also the first half of an ownership pairing with the name that follows: it is the knee, owned by Amir. Its object ending shows it is what the verb landed on, while the bare 'the'-less form lets the following name supply whose knee it is.
