Arabic vocabulary
How to say “sword” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَيَرْجِعُ ذُبَابُ سَيْفِهِ فَأَصَابَ رُكْبَةَ عَامِرِ فَمَاتَ مِنْهُ،
The tip of his sword snapped back and struck Amir's knee, and he died from it.
سَيْفِهِ — his sword. Completes the ownership pairing: a noun with an attached 'his' that names the owner of the tip mentioned just before. The suffix both possesses this noun and anchors the whole 'tip of his sword' chain, so the 'his' points back to the swordsman already in the scene.
