How to say “tip” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَيَرْجِعُ ذُبَابُ سَيْفِهِ فَأَصَابَ رُكْبَةَ عَامِرِ فَمَاتَ مِنْهُ،
The tip of his sword snapped back and struck Amir's knee, and he died from it.
ذُبَابُ — the tip. The first half of an ownership pairing whose owner ('his sword') follows: it is the thing owned. The word literally names a buzzing insect but is used here for the sword's point, and as the head of the pairing it gives up its own 'the' to take definiteness from the owner that comes next.
