Arabic vocabulary
How to say “laborers” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقَالَ الثَّالِثُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي اسْتَأْجَرْتُ أُجَرَّاءَ فَأَعْطَيْتُهُمْ أَجْرَهُمْ،
And the third said, "O Allah, indeed I hired laborers and gave them their wages."
أُجَرَّاءَ — laborers. A plural noun made by reshaping the word internally rather than adding an ending, the pattern Arabic often uses for groups of people. Its ending marks it as the direct object of 'hired', the people taken on for work.
