Arabic vocabulary
How to say “last night” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا فَعَلَ أَسِيرُكَ الْبَارِحَةَ
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah send blessings and grant him peace, said to me, "What did your captive do last night?"
الْبَارِحَةَ — last night. A time-word answering 'when' for the verb, pinning the action to the previous night. Arabic marks such an adverb of time by its accusative ending rather than needing a preposition like English 'last', so the bare noun alone carries the 'last night' sense.
