فَقَالَ دع الدُّنْيَا لأَهْلهَا كَمَا تركوهم الْآخِرَة لأَهْلهَا
He said, 'Leave the world to its people, as they have left the Afterlife to its people.'
دَعِ — leave. A command, 'leave alone, let be', from a verb Arabic uses only in the present and imperative, never the past. Its final vowel has opened to '-i' to glide into the 'the' that follows.
