In the Hereafter, a scale will appear that neither errs nor sways,
الْآخِرَةِ — the Hereafter. Genitive after 'fi' — 'the Hereafter, the Last [abode]'; a feminine adjective used as a noun.

He said, 'Leave the world to its people, as they have left the Afterlife to its people.'
الْآخِرَةَ — the Afterlife. The object of 'left', in the accusative '-a'. It names the next life, the thing the world's people are said to have abandoned, the mirror of what you should do with the world.

Say: The enjoyment of this world is little, and the hereafter is better for those who fear Allah.
وَالْآخِرَةُ — and the hereafter. This is 'and the hereafter', the definite, nominative subject of a new clause. It is set against 'this world' to weigh the two. The 'is' to its predicate is left unwritten.

And this is the most comprehensive oath found in the Qur'an, as it includes the higher and lower realms, this world and the hereafter, and what is seen and what is not seen.
وَالْآخِرَةَ — the hereafter. An 'and' plus 'the' on the noun 'the hereafter', the next included item. Its object ending marks it as encompassed; it pairs the afterlife with this world.

And He described the scholars of the hereafter as humble and ascetic.
الْآخِرَةِ — of the hereafter. The owning noun closing the 'scholars of the hereafter' pair. Its 'the' makes the phrase definite, naming the next life as what these scholars belong to, in contrast with the worldly scholars before.

الْآخِرَةَ — the hereafter. This is the subject of the second 'that' clause but it stands in the object case because the particle before it governs it that way. With 'the' it is definite, 'the hereafter', set in contrast to this world.
