Arabic vocabulary
How to say “left hand” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَنَفَحَ فِيهِ يَمِينَهُ وَشِمَالَهُ وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَوَرَاءَهُ،
Then he breathed into it with his right hand, his left hand, between his hands, and behind it.
وَشِمَالَهُ — and his left hand. The connector wa- joins this to the list, on a noun 'his left side' with a 'his' ending. Together with its mates it builds the sweep of directions, and the suffix again pins the side to the doer.
