Arabic vocabulary
How to say “less harmful” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
غَيْرُ أَنَّ بَعْضَ الْحُمْقِ أَهْوَنُ مِنْ بَعْضٍ
However, some foolishness is less harmful than others.
أَهْوَنُ — less harmful. This is a comparative form on the af'al pattern, English '-er', and it stands as the predicate: some folly IS lighter. The thing it is measured against is introduced by the comparative min ('than') that follows. It carries the point of the caveat, that follies differ in severity.
