غَيْرُ أَنَّ بَعْضَ الْحُمْقِ أَهْوَنُ مِنْ بَعْضٍ
However, some foolishness is less harmful than others.
بَعْضٍ — others. This noun is the object of the comparative 'than', so it sits in the (genitive); its indefinite ending keeps it general, 'other (folly)'. It is the standard the lighter folly is measured against. Pairing 'some' against 'other' is what frames the comparison of degrees.
