Arabic vocabulary
How to say “let hang down” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
وَتَوَسَّطَ قُفَّهَا، وَكَشَفَ عَنْ سَاقَيْهِ وَدَلَّاهُمَا فِي الْبِئْرِ،
And he placed his cloak in the middle, and uncovered from his two legs, and let them both hang down in the well.
وَدَلَّاهُمَا — and let them both hang down. The wa- ('and') links the next action; the verb 'let hang' carries an attached DUAL object 'them both', referring to the two legs. So 'and he let both of them dangle' is one word plus its conjunction.
From: Three Companions Promised Paradise →وَدَلَّى رِجْلَيْهِ فِي الْبِئْرِ،
And he lowered his two feet into the well.
وَدَلَّى — and lowered. The wa- ('and') opens it; the verb 'lowered' carries a built-in 'he'. The conjunction lists this as the next action.
