Abu Musa al-Ash'ari reported that he performed ablution in his house, then he went out.
So I said, "I will certainly remain with the Messenger of God, may God send blessings and grant him peace."
So I said, 'I will certainly be with him this day.' Then I went to the mosque.
Then he asked about the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and they said, "He went out and headed this way."
So I went out after him to ask about him.
Until he entered the well of Aris, and I sat by the door.
And its opening was from palm branches, until the Messenger of God had finished his need.
Then he performed ablution, and then I rose to him.
Then when he was sitting by the well of Aris.
And he placed his cloak in the middle, and uncovered from his two legs, and let them both hang down in the well.
I greeted him, then I left.
So I sat by the door and said, "Let me be the doorkeeper of the Messenger of God today, may God bless him and grant him peace."
Then Abu Bakr came and pushed the door.
I asked, "Who is this?" He replied, "Abu Bakr."
So I said, "Take your ease," and then I left.
So I said, O Messenger of God, this is Abu Bakr asking permission to enter.
He said, 'Allow him and give him glad tidings of Paradise.'
So I came forward until I said to Abu Bakr, 'Come in.'
And the Messenger of Allah gives you glad tidings of Paradise.
So Abu Bakr entered and sat to the right of the Messenger of God, beside him in the pit.
And he lowered his two feet into the well.
as the Prophet did, and he uncovered his two legs,
Then I returned and sat down, having left my brother performing ablution and about to catch up with me.
So I said, If Allah wills good for someone, his brother will want to bring him.
Then a man moved the door.
I said, "Who is this?" He replied, "Umar ibn al-Khattab."
I said, "Stay where you are," then I went to the Messenger of Allah and greeted him.
I said, "This is Umar ibn al‑Khattab; he is asking permission." He said, "Permit him and give him the glad tidings of Paradise."
I came and said, "Enter; the Messenger of Allah has given you the glad tidings of Paradise," and he entered.
Then he sat with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, on the seat to his left.
And he lowered his two legs into the well,
Then I returned and sat down.
I said, 'If Allah wills good for someone, He brings it to him.'
Then a man came, moving the door.
So I asked, 'Who is this?' He replied, 'Uthman ibn Affan.'
So I said, 'Stay where you are.' Then I came to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and so I informed him.
He said, Allow him and give him the glad tidings of Paradise despite the trial that will befall him.
I went to him and said to him, "Come in," and the Messenger of God gave you the glad tidings of Paradise regarding a trial that will befall you.
Then he entered and found that the basket had been filled.
So he sat with his face toward the other side.
