  فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ — so I informed him. Packs three things into one word: the fa- connector starting the next step, the past verb with its 'I' subject, and the attached 'him' as the person told. The suffix is the object receiving the news, reaching back to the one the speaker had come to inform.

  When he came, I told him.

  فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ — so I told him. This is a past-tense verb of telling with the 'so' connector (fa-) on its front, a first-person 'I' carried in its -tu ending, and -hu ('him') fused on as the object. So one word means 'so I told him'. The fa- links it as the result of the 'when he came' frame.
