Arabic vocabulary
How to say “palm branches” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَبَابُهَا مِنْ جَرِيدٍ حَتَّى قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَاجَتَهُ،
And its opening was from palm branches, until the Messenger of God had finished his need.
جَرِيدٍ — palm branches. An indefinite noun, 'palm branches', with no 'the' because it names the material in general; its ending shows the 'from' before it governs it. The missing al- keeps it generic.
