The more you watch over it in the small details, the more truthful its impact becomes on major decisions.
أَثَرُهَا — its impact. 'its trace / mark,' the subject of 'became' (the -u), with 'its' for the intention. The effect of intention — qualified by where it shows ('in big decisions') and what it becomes ('truer') — grows as you tend the small.

وَالْآثَارِ — and traditions. Joined by 'wa-', this broken plural ('the transmitted reports / traditions') shares the genitive of the previous noun, extending what he stands by. Coordinated nouns match in case, so it wears the same ending. Together they are scripture-plus-tradition.
