How to say “milk of” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
يَا من غذى بلبان الْبر وقلب بأيدي الألطاف
O one who was nurtured with the milk of righteousness and turned by hands of grace.
بِلُبَانِ — with the milk of. 'Bi-' (with) fused with 'milk', first term of an 'of' pairing — 'with the milk of righteousness'; it governs the genitive. The 'bi-' marks what one was nourished with; it owns the noun that follows.
From: Remembering and Loving God →لَو كَانَ فِي قَلْبك محبَّة لبان أَثَرهَا على جسدك
If there was love in your heart, its effect would appear on your body.
لَبَانَ — it would appear. The 'la-' answering the 'law' counterfactual, prefixed to a past-tense verb 'became plain / showed' — 'its trace would have shown'. The 'la-' marks the apodosis of the unreal condition.
