Arabic vocabulary
How to say “mind” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقَدْ ضَرَبْتُ لِذَلِكَ مَثَلَيْنِ، فَلْيَكُونَا مِنْكَ عَلَى بَالٍ
I have already given two examples for that, so keep them in mind:
بَالٍ — mind. An indefinite noun 'mind/awareness', governed into the genitive by the preceding 'on' and marked indefinite by its ending. With the preposition it forms the set phrase 'on (your) mind', i.e. kept in view. Its indefiniteness suits the idiomatic, general sense.
