Arabic vocabulary
How to say “my life” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لِأَنِّي أَشَافَهُ فِي عُمْرِي عَدَدًا مِنَ الْمُتَعَلِّمِينَ،
Because I taught it orally to a number of students during my life,
عُمْرِي — my life. A noun with a first-person possessor on its tail, 'my life' — Arabic attaches the owner as an ending rather than a separate 'my'. It sits in the after-preposition case because the time-preposition before it governs it.
