Arabic vocabulary
How to say “need her” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَنَّهَا لَا تَقْضِي حَاجَتَهَا إِلَّا وَظَهْرَيَّ مَطِيَّةٍ لَهَا،
and that she does not meet her needs except by using my back as her mount.
حَاجَتَهَا — her need. This noun, 'need', has the 'her' pronoun on its end, marking it as her own need, and stands as the object of 'meets'. Arabic attaches the owner straight onto the noun rather than using a separate 'her'. The -ha points back to the elderly mother.
