How to say “Noah” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَوْ كَانَ هَذَا عُذْرًا لَكَانَ عُذْرًا لِإِبْلِيسِ وَقَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَقَوْمِ هُودٍ وَكُلِّ كَافِرٍ
If this were an excuse, it would excuse Iblis, the people of Noah, the people of Hud, and every unbeliever.
نُوحٍ — Noah. A proper name in the genitive case because it is the owner completing the 'people of …' pair before it. In Arabic the second noun of such a possessive simply sits there bare and lends its definiteness backward to the first noun.
