Arabic vocabulary
How to say “occur” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَاللَّهِ مَا كَانَ يَقَعُ فِي نَفْسِي إِلَّا ذَاكَ
By God, nothing occurred in my mind except that.
يَقَعُ — it occurred. A present-tense verb leaning on the 'used to' helper before it to read as a repeated past, 'kept occurring'. Its built-in 'it' refers to the thought in the speaker's mind.
From: Abu Bakr After the Prophet →OpenArabic teaches words like يَقَعُ through real bilingual reading with native audio and spaced-repetition practice.
