How to say “of Sayd” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقَدْ لَخَّصَهَا الشَّيْخُ عَلِيُّ الْطَنْطَاوِي فِي مُقَدِّمَةِ طَبْعَتِهِ لِصَيْدِ الْخَاطِرِ فَقَالَ
Sheikh Ali al-Tantawi had summarized it in the preface to his edition of Sayd al-Khatir and said:
لِصَيْدِ — of Sayd. A preposition 'for/of' fused to the first word of a book-title, linking the edition to the work it presents. The preposition governs the following title-noun into the genitive, and the whole 'of Sayd' is one written word.
