Sheikh Ali al-Tantawi had summarized it in the preface to his edition of Sayd al-Khatir and said:
مُقَدِّمَةِ — preface. A noun 'preface' that is the first half of an 'of' possessive pair, governed into the genitive by the 'in' preposition and waiting for its owner-noun. 'Preface of …' is built by bare adjacency.
