How to say “ornamented speech” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ وَيْحَكَ أُكْتُبْهُ فَإِنَّ الْأَشْرَافُ يَعْجِبُهُمْ الْمُلَاحَةُ
He said, "Woe to you; write it down, for the nobles admire ornamented speech."
الْمُلَاحَةُ — the ornamented speech. The al- makes this definite, 'the' ornamented speech, the specific known thing. Despite coming last, it is the actual doer of 'pleases' in the previous verb (which carried 'them' as its object), so it serves as the delayed subject.
