Arabic vocabulary
How to say “passage” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
الحمد لله الذي جعل الدنيا على الحقيقة معبر اعتبار،
Praise be to Allah who made this world, in truth, a passage for reflection,
مَعْبَرَ — a passage. This is the front half of 'a passage of reflection', a possessive pairing, and the second object of 'made', so it carries the object ending. It is what the world was turned into; it draws its sense from the owner that follows.
