صادّ عَن سَبِيل الله بشبهاته وزخرف قَوْله ومفتون بدنياه ورئاسته
The one who obstructs the path of Allah with his doubts and embellished words, and who is deceived by his worldliness and leadership.
سَبِيلِ — the path of. 'Path / way', first term of an 'of' pairing — 'the path of God' — genitive after 'from'. It owns the noun that follows.
From: Directing Desire Toward God →وهم أصحاب اليمين الذين آمنوا بالله وصدقوا المرسلين وسلكوا غير سبيل المجرمين
And they are the companions of the right hand who believed in God and confirmed the messengers and followed paths other than those of the criminals.
سَبِيلِ — paths. This noun names a path or way and is owned by 'other than' before it, while itself owning 'the criminals' after it: the path of the criminals. Each noun stands directly against the next with no word for 'of'.
From: Prayer and Charity →وَإِنْ كَانَ وَلَا بُدَّ، فَعَلَى سَبِيلِ الإِجْتِيَازِ،
And if it must be, then as an expedient.
سَبِيلِ — way. This noun heads a fixed phrase that, with the preposition before it, means 'by way of / as a means of'. It is the front of a possessive pair, bound to the following noun to say 'by way of an expedient'. It supplies the framing for treating the act as merely passing.
