How to say “pinnacle” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
وفاسق الكتبة إليه المنتهى في السرق وعاقبة أمرهم وبيلة من الضرب والمصادرة والفقر
And the dissolute scribes reach the pinnacle of theft, and their final outcome is disaster with beatings, confiscation, and poverty.
الْمُنْتَهَى — the pinnacle. This is the delayed subject — 'the utmost / the extreme', in the nominative — 'to him belongs the pinnacle [of theft]'. Its final long 'a' is fixed and never shifts for case, so you read its role from position. It says he reaches the very peak of thieving.
From: Intention in Islam →فإذا تذكر الإنسان مبدأ أمره ومنتهاه، زال عنه العجب والغرور،
Thus, when a person remembers his origin and end, his vanity and arrogance disappear,
وَمُنْتَهَاهُ — and his end. Joined by 'and', a noun 'end' with an attached 'its' fused on, coordinated with the previous pair: his beginning and his end. The suffix carries the possessor, pointing back to the man's own course.
