Arabic vocabulary
How to say “place” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
يجمع الله الأولين والآخرين في صعيد واحد،
Allah gathers the first and the last in one place,
صَعِيدٍ — place. An indefinite noun (carrying the -in tanwin) in the genitive after the preposition before it. Its indefiniteness leaves the place unspecified, and the noun after it will narrow it down; the genitive ending is forced by the 'in'.
