How to say “preparations” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
الْوَاجِبُ عَلَى الْعَاقِلِ أَخْذُ الْعِدَّةِ لِرَحِيلِهِ؛
It is incumbent upon a sensible person to make preparations for his departure.
الْعِدَّةِ — the preparations. The al- marks this as definite, and as the owned tail of the possessive chain it takes the 'of' (genitive) ending, naming what is to be taken: the provisions. It completes 'taking of the provisions', the act the obligation requires.
