Arabic vocabulary
يَمْنَعُهُ is how you say “prevents him” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
قَالَ فَمَا يَمْنَعُهُ مِنْهَا عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ ؟
He said, "So what prevents him from it at his death?"
يَمْنَعُهُ — he prevents him. A present-tense verb, 'it prevents', with an object -hu ('him') attached, the 'it' (the unnamed obstacle) carried inside as subject. So one word holds the verb, its hidden subject, and its object. The -hu points to the boy, the one held back from saying the words.
